How to De-clutter?

Never realized the importance of decluttering until I realized one day after a frantic clean up session. Ah this feels absolutely great. I feel my life is a lot easier and things I need are easily available! Never did I ever realize until that great day.

So here are some tips on how to declutter your art studio:

Put things away  - most important go step by step. Once you finish a project, a sketch or a simple research, put them away! It isn't tough and leads you to the next step.

Everything needs their home! Yes everything has a home and needs a home. Once you have designated spaces for your objects it simply won't be tough to have them put away (point no. 1).

Organise your storage area. Must must must! Must organise your storage area. Best way I have realized to do it. Have one day slotted in a week to organize one section of your drawer and make a list of things where you would like to store them. If you don't have a storage area, invest in small drawers that you can easily find in your grocery stores!

Beat Procrastination before it beats you! Ah yes. Don't we all love sitting on that couch and watching netflix all day or stalking our favorite artists on instagram or youtube.....keep doing that. But don't forget to designate time for your organising coz if you won't do it, who will?!!!!

Do you even need that ...the Marie Kondo way! Most of the times we go to art stores and just fall in love with everything that store has to offer especially the best deals section. But when we go through our decluttering phase we realize many of those things we don't even need them or ask ourselves why did we even buy them in the first place. Well. Make a box of donations/give away - ask your artist friends around if they need them and they will be more than happy. Else you can always donate to schools they always need art material!
